DAVENPORT, IOWA (December 20, 2022) — Waste Commission of Scott County facilities will close at noon Friday, December 23, and will remain closed through Monday, December 26. Facilities will reopen on Tuesday, December 27.

The Landfill will be open normal hours on Saturday, December 31. Facilities will be closed Monday, January 2, in observance of New Year’s Day. All facilities will reopen Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

CHADRON, NEBRASKA (December 19, 2022) — Chadron State College's combined undergraduate and graduate winter commencement exercises were canceled December 16, due to heavy snowfall and high winds. The list of candidates includes summer graduates and consists of 71 names for Master's degrees and for 108 Bachelor's degrees. Students who wish to, are invited to walk in the May ceremony.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (December 19, 2022) — Together, the Quad Cities Community Foundation and twelve other local funders and individual donors have raised $224,000 to help River Bend Food Bank feed children, adults, and seniors facing hunger this winter.

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA (December 19, 2022) — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred 1,288 degrees during commencement exercises December 16 and 17 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
