MOLINE, ILLINOIS (August 31, 2026) — Western Illinois University's Center for Career Preparation and Employer Engagement and academic departments will host a series of Career and Internship Fairs during the Fall 2026 semester, providing students with opportunities to connect with employers, explore career paths and secure internships and full-time positions.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (August 31, 2026) — Goodwill of the Heartland is launching Healthcare Career Connections, a new three-week career exploration program designed to help people discover opportunities in health-care and build a path toward training, employment and long-term career growth.

The program is offered at no cost to participants. The first class begins October 19 in Davenport, with future classes planned for the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Quad Cities areas.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 31, 2026) — Cities, school districts, and health-care professionals in the Iowa Quad Cities are teaming up to launch a campaign focused on the safe use of electric bikes and scooters on sidewalks and trails. The “Ride Safe ‘n Smart” campaign encourages safe speeds, trail etiquette, and education on what devices are allowed on public sidewalks and trails.
