DeKALB, ILLINOIS (June 16, 2022) — Northern Illinois University announces its Spring 2022 Dean's List students. To earn this distinction, students must meet a minimum semester grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology or a minimum of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale in the colleges of Business, Education, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Visual and Performing Arts.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (June 16, 2022) — The Drum Corps International Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque, Iowa, will perform its 2022 competitive show "The Silk Road" at 8PM, Sunday, June 26, at Monmouth College's April Zorn Memorial Stadium.

In addition to the free community performance of the show, all of the Colts' rehearsals through June 29 are free and open for the public to attend.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (June 16, 2022) — While attending the Association of Business and Industry’s Annual Convention in Dubuque, Governor Kim Reynolds signed several workforce bills into law, including the reduction of the maximum number of weeks eligible for unemployment benefits from 26 weeks to sixteen weeks, adjustments to child-care ratios and age-requirements for child-care employees, and several licensing-reform changes.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 16, 2022) — Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped for the fifth consecutive month to 2.7 percent in May — down from 3.0 percent in April and from 4.5 percent one year ago. Job growth was mirrored in the Labor Force Participation Rate, which grew to 67.6 percent in May, up from 67.4 percent last month and 67.1 percent a year ago. The US May unemployment rate remained at 3.6 percent.
