ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 9, 2021) Quad City Arts is pleased to announce the 2021 Arts Dollars grant awards to 25 non-profit organizations, totaling just over $84,000. Since 1979, Quad City Arts grants have provided funding for local artists and non- profit organizations to enrich the quality of life in the Quad City region through the arts. Since 1990 alone, more than $1.4 million has been awarded.

BUFFALO, NEW YORK (03/08/2021) — Blake Wareham, of Bettendorf, Iowa (52722), is one of more than 1,100 Canisius College students named to the fall 2020 Dean's List or Merit List.

Wareham is a member of the Canisius Class of 2021 and pursuing a degree in Biology, which is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 8, 2021) — The 2021 Quad City Arts Metro Arts Youth Apprenticeship Program is accepting applications through Wednesday, March 31. This program provides area youth ages 15-21 with five-week paid summer apprenticeships. These apprentices will create community-arts projects that positively impact our community. These projects include mural painting, poetry, film, graphic design, and more.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 8, 2021) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is encouraging Iowa high schools to conduct voter-registration drives on Tuesday, March 30. The date coincides with the 50th anniversary of Iowa ratifying the 26th Amendment to the US Constitution, lowering the voting age from 21 to 18.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (March 5, 2021) — More than 1,400 current University of Iowa students who participated in the 27th annual student-led Dance Marathon, which raised more than $1.4 million for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. The final tally raised by the students — who were inspired by the theme of this year's Dance Marathon: "Rise with Resilience" — was $1,422,443.27, a total which pushed the amount of support generated by Dance Marathon over the cours

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 5, 2021) — Governor Kim Reynolds signed a new Public Health Disaster proclamation that extends critical regulatory relief for an additional 30 days to those on the frontlines of COVID19 recovery.

The proclamation continues to strongly encourage Iowans, businesses, and organizations to take reasonable public health measures consistent with guidance from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
