WASHINGTON DC (January 23, 2025) — The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) has issued the following statement in response to the federal court's ruling temporarily blocking President Trump's executive order attempting to end automatic citizenship for babies born on American soil. 

CLIVE, IOWA (January 22, 2025) — Carroll County pig farmer Aaron Juergens has been named the new president of the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA). He assumed the role during the organization’s annual meeting in Des Moines on January 21. Juergens manages over 100,000 nursery and finishing pig spaces for Sunburst Valley Farms near Carroll.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (January 22, 2025) — Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences appoints Beth Culross PhD RN GCNS-BC CHSE as the inaugural director of its new Des Moines University Regional Simulation Center at 3200 Grand. Culross, a nationally-recognized expert in simulation-based education and health-care training, will lead the development and operations of the simulation center, currently under construction and slated to open in late Fall 2025.
