DES MOINES, IOWA (August 17, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds formally requested, on August 16, an expedited Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for Iowa communities and counties that have been severely impacted by the devastating derecho storm that occurred on Monday, August 10, 2020.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 14, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation in response to a severe weather system that moved across Iowa and caused widespread damage August 10. The proclamation now allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather in Cass and Guthrie counties.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (August 13, 2020) — In a letter to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Representative Dave Loebsack today offered his assistance and support to the State’s ongoing response and recovery efforts after a derecho storm ripped through large portions of Iowa on Monday. In its wake, the storm left behind destroyed homes, property, businesses, farmland, and school buildings.
