APPLETON, WISCONSIN (July 29, 2020) The Lawrence University community gathered virtually in June for a Commencement celebration unlike any other in the school's 171-year history. Held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic that moved Spring Term classes to distance learning, the ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of nearly 270 Lawrentians in the Class of 2020.

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 27, 2020) Governor Kim Reynolds today announced her appointment of John Flynn as a district court judge in Judicial Election District 2B.

Flynn, of Boone, Iowa, currently practices law with the Jordan and Mahoney Law Firm PC in Boone. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and his law degree from the Drake University Law School.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 27, 2020) — Lynn and Dennis Quinn (top center, with their children and grandchildren) started an endowment fund and seeded it with “a small amount” at the Quad Cities Community Foundation many, many years ago. Their intent was to begin a relationship with the Community Foundation, and then go from there.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 27, 2020) The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced this morning to postpone all fall sports competition and championships. The decision, which came as the result of a unanimous vote from the CCIW Council of Presidents (COP), affects football, women’s volleyball, men and women’s soccer, men and women’s cross-country, women’s golf, and women’s tennis.
