Priority will be given to the essential operational costs of non-profit applicants serving the basic needs of residents including:

PEORIA, ILLINOIS (April 6, 2020) — The US Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Grain and Feed Association of Illinois (GFAI), and Illinois On-Site Consultation Program have signed a two-year alliance to address safety and health hazards employees face at Illinois grain-handling sites.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 6, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the State Public Health Emergency Declaration, ordering additional closures and relaxing additional regulations to support the state’s efforts to combat COVID-19. The proclamation also calls on law enforcement to assist in the enforcement of these mitigation efforts. Gov Reynolds discussed the new proclamation at her 11:00 a.m. press conference.

PELLA, IOWA (April 6, 2020) — Leslie Duinink, registrar and class dean at Central College, has been appointed by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds to the Iowa Board of Chiropractic.

The Iowa Board of Chiropractic evaluates the qualifications of applicants for licensure and grants licenses to those who qualify. It also establishes rules and regulations to ensure the integrity and competence of licensed chiropractors and investigates complaints for unprofessional conduct.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 6, 2020) — Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) is outlining the benefits of Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act of 2020, which provides unemployment benefits for the self-employed, independent contractors, nonprofit employees, gig economy workers, those who have exhausted other unemployment insurance benefits, and those who may not have sufficient work history to qualify for a regular state claim.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 6, 2020) — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 83 additional positive cases for a total of 868 positive cases. There have been an additional 519 negative tests for a total of 9,973 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs. An additional 8 deaths were reported to IDPH.
