WASHINGTON DC (April 9, 2020) — US Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today announced the first state, Michigan, has been approved to operate Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT), a new program authorized by the Families First Coronavirus Act (FFCRA), signed by President Trump, which provides assistance to families of children eligible for free or reduced-price meals dealing with school closures.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 9, 2020) — The Iowa Economic Development Authority recently announced that 500 small businesses have been awarded a total of more than $10 million in grants through the Iowa Small Business Relief Grant program. ANKENY, IOWA (April 9, 2020) — A report released by the Iowa Department of Revenue shows biodiesel-blended fuel represented 69.9 percent of the total reported sales of on-road diesel last year in Iowa. Furthermore, blends of 11–20 percent biodiesel (B11–B20) made up most of those sales.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 9, 2020) — The number of initial claims in Iowa reported by the US Department of Labor, filed between Sunday, March 29, and Saturday, April 4, was 67,334. There were 64,187 initial claims by individuals who work and live in Iowa, and 3,147 claims by individuals who work in Iowa and live in another state.

The number of continuing weekly unemployment claims is 92,962.
