As the chairman of the Finance Committee and head of the Tax Task Force, I want to highlight a few areas of the bipartisan economic relief bill we will be voting on today.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 25, 2020) ― Attorney General Tom Miller joined letters with 32 other attorneys general to urge Amazon, Facebook, Ebay, Walmart, and Craigslist to more rigorously monitor price-gouging practices by online sellers using their services.

Half the readers I hear from accuse me of Trump Derangement Syndrome. The other half accuse me of rabid Trump fandom. In truth, I think of US President Donald J Trump in exactly the same way I think of most other politicians: He's usually wrong and often dangerous. But when he's right, he's right. He's right when he says that America needs to "open up" soon. If anything, his target date of Easter is too distant. The longer we wait to get moving again, the longer it will take to recover.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 24, 2020) — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) learned late today of the first death associated with novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The individual was an older adult, 61-80 years of age, and a resident of Dubuque County.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 24, 2020) — The State Objection Panel, which is comprised of Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate, Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller, and Auditor of State Rob Sand, met Tuesday to consider nine objections filed against primary election candidates. The panel heard arguments from the challengers and the candidates or their representatives.

Below is how panel ruled on each challenge.

WASHINGTON DC (March 24, 2020) — Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles "Chuck" Grassley (R-IA) is urging the leader of the US intelligence community to further incorporate and provide intelligence access to the Department of Health and Human Services Office of National Security (ONS) to strengthen the governmental response to the COVID-19 public health crisis and future health concerns.

“That was when they suspended the Constitution. They said it would be temporary. There wasn’t even any rioting in the streets. People stayed home at night, watching television, looking for some direction. There wasn’t even an enemy you could put your finger on.”― Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale
