WASHINGTON DC (March 11, 2020) — Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley today issued a warning to all 77 colleges, universities and school districts with known active Confucius Institutes on campus: Know who you’re dealing with. Sen Grassley is urging each school to request an FBI briefing to fully understand the academic research and national-security threats posed by the Chinese government-backed organizations operating on campus.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 10, 2020) — Testing at Iowa’s State Hygienic Laboratory has indicated five additional presumptive positive cases of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Iowa residents, a total of 13 presumptive positive cases. 14 additional tests were negative. All five new cases are in self isolation and recovering at home.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 10, 2020) — Governor Kim Reynolds signed SF155, a bill to allow mobile barber shops in the state of Iowa. Gov Reynolds was joined by Lieutenant Gov Adam Gregg, Iowa lawmakers, and William Burt, the owner of a mobile barbershop serving underprivileged Iowans. SF155 passed the Iowa Senate 49-0 and the Iowa House 92-0.

LENEXA, KANSAS (March 9, 2020) — The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) notified registrants of disinfectants that due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19, the agency is expediting the review of submissions from companies requesting to add Emerging Viral Pathogens claims to their already-registered surface disinfectant labels.
