APPLETON, WISCONSIN (March 10, 2020) — Nick Fahrenkrug of Davenport, Iowa, performed in "The Marriage of Figaro," a comic opera staged March 5-8 by the Lawrence Conservatory's Opera Theatre department. The production was presented over four days in Stansbury Theater at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. It featured a cast of 11, plus stage and technical crews, two rehearsal pianists, a student pit orchestra, and a 14-member chorus.

Last Saturday marked an incredible milestone for Make-a-Wish Iowa.

At their event in Dubuque, this organization granted its 4,000th wish to Michael, aged 15, from Oelwein. He received a trailer for transporting show cattle.

This is an amazing achievement for Make-a-Wish, which is dedicated to bringing joy to the critically ill children of Iowa.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 9, 2020) — Governor Reynolds today signed a Proclamation of Disaster Emergency, activating the disaster response and recovery aspects of the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management’s Iowa Emergency Response Plan. The proclamation authorizes state agencies to utilize resources including personnel, equipment and facilities to perform activities necessary to prevent, contain and mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 virus.
