DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 26, 2020) — People impacted by cancer and their loved ones are invited to join us Thursday, March 26, 6– 8PM, at Main (321 N Main St) as we learn what kids know about this condition at different ages, how to talk about cancer, tips for answering common questions, ways to help your child, and additional resources. This free workshop focuses on building awareness about how to carry out conversations about cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Over the past year, EPA has made significant progress under the Action Plan to help states and local communities address per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and protect public health and the agency’s Program Update highlights those efforts.

WASHINGTON DC (February 26, 2020) — Senators Charles "Chuck" Grassley and Joni Ernst (both R-IA) joined Sen Roger Wicker (R-MS) and 68 of their colleagues in introducing a resolution honoring former US Senator Hiram Rhodes Revels. This week marks 150 years since Revels was sworn in as a US senator from Mississippi. He was the first African-American to serve in Congress.

DES MOINES, IOWA (February 26, 2020) — With 168 days until the Iowa State Fair, August 13-23, 2020, now is your chance to create a part of Iowa State Fair history by designing your own concrete statue. Past sculptures have included an elephant, pig, cow, horse, ice-cream cone, Ferris wheel, state of Iowa, Iowa State Fair logo, and blue ribbon. The featured concrete sculpture for the 2020 Fair is a retro camper to symbolize the rich tradition and sense of community at the Fair.
