DES MOINES, IOWA (February 6, 2020) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announces the hiring of Jeff Franklin to bolster the state’s election cybersecurity. Franklin served as the State of Iowa’s Chief Information Security Officer for the past 10 years. His expertise will help protect Iowa’s elections in 2020 and beyond.

PLATTEVILLE, WISCONSIN (February 6, 2020) — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville celebrated its 203rd commencement ceremonies December 14, 2019 in Williams Fieldhouse, and the ceremonies featured local students.

UW-Platteville, founded in 1866, has been named the best in Wisconsin for annual return on investment for the fourth consecutive year by Payscale and the best in the state (and seventh nationally) for employment by Zippia, the Career Expert.

HOUGHTON, MICHIGAN (February 6, 2020) — Michigan Technological University, in Houghton, Michigan, has released the Dean's List for the 2019 Fall semester. More than 1,880 students were named to the Dean's List this past fall.

To be included, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

A pound sign indicates a student who earned University Honors, finishing in the top-2 percent of their College. Asterisks indicate those earning straight-A averages of 4.0.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (Februrary 6, 2020) — On Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 7:30PM, The Jupiter String Quartet, the quartet-in-residence at the University of Illinois, is featured on the Quad City Symphony Orchestra’s WVIK/QCSO Signature Series.
