Justin Moore at the Mississippi Valley Fair -- August 5.

Tuesday, July 31, through Sunday, August 5

Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 West Locust Street, Davenport IA

Chart-toppers, multi-platinum sellers, multiple-award winners, and more are set to electrify crowds as the grandstand entertainment for the July 31 through August 5 Mississippi Valley Fair, the eagerly awaited six-day festival boasting games, competitions, vendors, and concert sets by more than two dozen national and local acts.

The grandstand events at Davenport's Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds begin with a July 31 performance by Chris Young, the country-music sensation who has released seven studio albums, 18 singles, and 14 music videos. Nine of Young's singles have reached number one on either the Hot Country Songs o Country Airplay charts, and in 2006, the artist rose to fame as the winner of season four of TV's singing competition Nashville Star. On August 1, the grandstand welcomes the alternative- and reggae-rock musicians of Sublime with Rome, a musical collaboration between Eric Wilson, formerly of the band Sublime, and singer/guitarist Rome Ramirez. Formed in 2009, the band has thus far released two studio albums in Yours Truly and Sirens, both of which hit the top three of Billboard's U.S. Rock chart. Country-music superstar Tony Keith takes the grandstand stage on August 2, his credits inlcuding the release of 17 studio albums, two Christmas albums, four Greatest Hits packages, and six compilation albums. Keith has charted 64 singles on the Billboard country charts, of which all but seven reached top 40 or higher, and 20 of his singles have reached number-one in the United States.

Hailing from from Delta, British Columbia, the Canadian rockers of Theory of a Deadman serve as the grandstand entertainment for August 3. Frequently including country and acoustic stylings to their post-grunge and alternative-rock base, the band has had eight top-10 hits on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, including number-one hits in Bad Girlfriend,” “Lowlife,” and “Rx (Medicate).” Performing on August 4 is country-music icon Billy Currington, who, since 2003, has released six albums for Mercury Nashville Records that have collectively produced 18 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. Among them are 11 number-one hits including “Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right,” “Good Directions,” and “People Are Crazy,” with his 2017 single “Do I Make You Wanna” hitting the top spot, as well. And wrapping up the Mississippi Valley Fair's 2018 grandstand acts is Justin Moore, who takes the stage on August 5. The 2014 recipient of the Academy of Country Music Awards' “New Artist of the Year” citation, Moore has released four studio albums and charted 11 times on Billboard's Hot Country Songs, six times with a number-one hit.

Twenty additional area bands will perform at the fairgrounds' Pavilion, Farmer's Tent, and Shed stages, with the fair's events including animal shows, arts-and-crafts activities, games, parades, displays, and much more. Daily hours for the 2018 Mississippi Valley Fair are 7 a.m. to midnight (buildings open at 9 a.m.), gate admission is $5-10 daily, and Fun Cards required for entry into the grandstand concerts are $55-60.
