Hailed by Texas Monthly for his edgy jokes' "blithe, understated lack of self-consciousness ... that elevate them beyond mere gross-out gags," actor, writer, and featured Saturday Night Live cast member Andrew Dismukes headlines a July 12 show at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, his film credits including Super Troopers 3 and Call Me Brother, the latter of which earned him a Special Jury Award for Performance at the Florida Film Festival.

Dismukes was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in Port Neches, a small Gulf Coast city located near the Texas-Louisiana border. He graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 2013 and attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning a 2017 Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-Television-Film. Dismukes began performing stand-up in 2013, while a freshman in college, and was active in the Austin comedy scene. After graduating from college and being named the 2016 runner-up in "Funniest Person in Austin," a competition run by the Cap City Comedy Club, Dismukes performed at the Just for Laughs comedy festival as part of the New Faces showcase, subsequently being offered an audition for Saturday Night Live.. He officially joined the show's writing staff at the beginning of season 43, and as part of that team, he received an Emmy nomination for the Outstanding Writing For A Variety Series in 2018 and 2019.

He served as an SNL writer for three seasons, after which he joined the cast as a featured player in 2020 for the show's 46th season and became a repertory player during its 48th season in 2022. Beyond his performing and writing for Saturday Night Live, Dismukes also receiving Writers Guild of America Award nominations in 2019 and 2020, the popular touring standup has played venues all across North America and the United Kingdom. Dismukes has performed at the Moon Tower Comedy Festival, the Dublin comedy Festival, Clusterfest, and the New York Comedy Festival, and next month, his feature-film comedy Super Troopers 3 hits theaters nationwide. Last year, Dismukes also married fellow comedian Aly Dixon, who appears on the Raccoon Motel alongside her husband.

Appearing at the close of the Raccoon Motel's fifth-anniversary week, Andrew Dismukes headlines his Davenport engagement on July 12 with an additional set by wife Aly Dixon, admission to the 6 p.m. show is $26.45, and more information and tickets are available by visiting TheRaccoonMotel.com.
