“Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue" at the Adler Theatre -- April 30.

Tuesday, April 30, 7:30 p.m.

Adler Theatre, 136 East Third Street, Davenport IA

Deemed "a side-splitting spectacular" by the Washington Blade, the touring celebration of a beloved and iconic TV sitcom comes to Davenport's Adler Theatre in Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue, an adult-themed comedy that, with its all-male cast, Play Off the Page described as "a wonderful blend of nostalgia and witty dialogue mixed with the sex appeal of drag."

With this nationally touring comedy sensation, Miami’s sassiest seniors return for one more hurrah in an all-new show written by Robert Leleux and directed by Eric Swanson, one that imagines what NBC's original Golden Girls would be doing today if they were still alive. Among the hilarious shenanigans of 2024, Sophia is now out on bail after being busted by the DEA for running a drug ring for retirees. Blanche and Rose have founded CreakN, a thriving sex app for seniors. And Dorothy is trying to hold it all together, with help from her much younger, sex-crazed love interest. In Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue, adult audiences are invited to relive the heartfelt hilarity of four ladies who never stopped being your friend.

Assuming the original TV roles memorably originated by the legendary team of Beatrice Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty are four gifted male performers with national credits, with another male actor double-cast as Stanley and Burt. Ryan Bernier (Dorothy) is a Florida-born actor, director, and educator currently living in Detroit. Recently a graduate of Wayne State University's M.F.A. Acting program, his regional credits include Fairview (Mack), Hamlet (Hamlet), and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Leaf Coneybear). Adam Graber (Rose), originally from the upper peninsula of Michigan, holds a BFA in Theatre from Western Michigan University and recently completed his MFA in Acting at Wayne State University. Some of their professional credits include Rent (Angel), The Merry Wives of Windsor (Dr. Caius) and The Taming of the Shrew (Curtis).

Christopher Kamm (Sophia) boasts credits including Rock of Ages (Drew), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Coneybear), bare: a pop opera (Peter), and The Who's Tommy (Cousin Kevin). Jason Bowen (Stanley and Burt), a Chicago native and current Detroit resident, has worked with Broadway in Chicago, Emerald City, First Stage, Light Opera Works, The Music Theatre Company, The Bailiwick, MadKap Productions, and Chicago Performing Arts Center. And Vince Kelley (Blanche) is a Michigan native who, per his biography at GoldenGirlsTour.com, "considers himself a Southern Belle at heart." His online bio also says that "Vince has been acting/singing/dancing/costuming/writing here and there for just over 30 years now, which is weird because he’s only 25."

The touring production of Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue lands in Davenport on April 30, admission to the 7:30 p.m. show is $43-78, and tickets are available by calling (800)745-3000 and visiting AdlerTheatre.com.
