Kelsey Cook at the Rhythm City Casino Resort Rhythm Room -- August 4.

Friday, August 4, 7 p.m.

Rhythm City Casino Resort Rhythm Room, 7077 Elmore Avenue, Davenport IA

Being the daughter of an international yo-yo champion and a professional foosball player made for a humor-filled life at a young age, and now, comedian Kelsey Cook brings her national tour to Davenport's Rhythm City Casino Resort Rhythm Room, her August 4 stand-up set landing mere months after the debut of her comedy-special smash The Hustler.

Born in Spokane, Washington, in 1989, Cook studied at Washington State University and graduated in 2011 with a degree in broadcast journalism. Embarking on a career in comedy shortly afterward, she appeared on TV shows including This Is Not Happening, Gotham Comedy Live, Punchline, Uproarious, and MTV's The Greatest Party Story Ever, and has headlined national sets at the Comedy Cellar, The Stand, Gotham Comedy Club, and The Laugh Factory. Cook has also performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon multiple times, and co-hosts the Self-Helpless podcast with fellow comedians Taylor Tomlinson and Delanie Fischer. The podcast can regularly be found on the iTunes Top Comedy Charts and has featured guests including Brian Regan, Michael Bublé, Whitney Cummings, Tan France, and Bert Kreischer.

Recently released on YouTube, Cook's stand-up special The Hustler crossed one million views in four weeks. 800 Pound Gorilla Media stated of the project, "Kelsey got divorced one week before the pandemic. Perfect timing. So while her friends used the time to get sober or get fit, Kelsey spent the pandemic getting used to divorced life. The Highs: peeing in the shower without her husband's judgement. The lows: watching ASMR videos on YouTube to feel less alone. Lucky for us, she wrote jokes about all of it." Currently traveling the country on her "The Nice Try Tour," Cook is also famed for her foosball-themed Web series Wrists of Fury, which boasts more than 20 episodes in which she hustles fellow comedians who don’t know that, like her mother, she's a world champion foosball player.

Kelsey Cook headlines her Rhythm Room engagement on August 4, admission to the 7 p.m. show is $35, and more information and tickets are available by calling (563)328-8000 and visiting RhythmCityCasino.com.
