Lowland VII: An Autumn Block Party at Rozz-Tox -- October 6.

Quad Citians of all ages are invited to celebrate the arrival of fall when Rock Island venue Rozz-Tox and Laborspace host an expansive neighborhood gathering in Lowland VII: An Autumn Block Party, the October 6 outdoor event boasting art vendors, a flea market, a farmer's market, poetry readings, food and beverages, and plenty of fun for the entire family.

With food and beverages available for purchase from Rozz-Tox, Huckleberry's Great Pizza and Calzones, and Radicle Effect Brewerks, this year's seventh Lowland Block Party will feature live vinyl DJ sets from the Ragged Records staff running all afternoon long. Rock Island's Midwest Writing Center will be on hand will live poetry and literature readings, while local television station WQPT will offer a number of family-friendly activities on site. There will also be a QC Farmer's Market on the Rozz-Tox grounds, with a good giveaway included and the sponsored events including the painting and carving of both pumpkins and turnips.

More than 20 area venues and individuals, meanwhile, will be selling specific items in the flea market that remains open throughout the afternoon: Ragged Records & Music (discount LPs); Jon Burns (paintings, prints); The ARTery (Art from Carolyn and Tara); Crux Jewelry (handmade jewelry); Death Stitch (upcycled flannels and more); Ghost Girl (pop art); Erica Parrott (fine art and prints); Glen Lowry (fine art and prints); Stephanie Patrick (art and more); Thrifted Sisters (clothing and more); E. Jayne DeMarco (beadwork and pixel art); Moe Metscadicks (stickers, pins, and prints); Blue Collar Bagels (locally made bagels); Selective Seconds (jewelry and clothing); Elliott Bay Towers (art, VHS tapes, oddities); Susan Samolitis (repurposed jewelry); Familiar Stitch (embroidery and handmade goods); Dapper Dodo Designs (art and handmade jewelry); Three Dragons Designs (handmade goods); Scare Shop (horror and Halloween goods); and Rozz-Tox itself (VHS tapes).
