QC Flavor Fest 2025 at Common Chord -- October 2.
Thursday, October 2, 5 p.m.
Common Chord, 129 Main Street, Davenport IA
On October 2, guests of Davenport's Common Chord are invited to taste-test the best the Quad Cities has to offer with the eagerly anticipated, third-annual QC Flavor Fest, this fundraiser for music-education programs boasting a concert with Chicago Farmer, auction items, prizes, and some of the most mouth-watering delicacies available anywhere in the Midwest.
This special event offers 15 sampling stations from favorite Quad Cities restaurants and food purveyors. QC Flavor Fest 2025 will also feature more than 50 unique and must-have silent-auction items, with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to Common Chord’s music education. Beyond the evening's thrilling concert set with Redstone Room favorite Chicago Farmer, guests will have the opportunity to qualify for prizes and cast their vote for the title of 2025 Quad Cities Favorite as restaurants and food purveyors compete in two categories – sweet and savory - for the coveted Golden Kazoo Award.
All year long, Common Chord provides a variety of educational and enrichment programs to area youth designed to provide access to musical experiences and build positive relationships, including:
* InTune Music Mentorship program, provided to students at the Friendly House; Scott County Family Y, St. Ambrose Children’s Campus and the Lincoln Center in Davenport, the YMCA and MLK Center in Rock Island and the Boys & Girls Club in Moline. InTune employs professional musician mentors to share a love of music with the kids, build healthy mentoring relationships, develop stronger support networks for at-risk youth, and show positive paths forward in life.
* Acoustic Music Clubs, a music enrichment program for youth and adults with disabilities that provides a fun musical experience. Provided in partnership with the Blackhawk Area Special Education Center, ARC of the Quad Cities, the Empowering Abilities, and Empower House.
* RiverCurrents, the flagship school program that teaches the history and evolution of American music along the Mississippi River. All Davenport Schools' fifth-graders participate in this program, in addition to many other schools throughout the region.
* Kidstock and Ellis Kell Winter Blues Camps – Bringing young musicians together to form bands, learn to collaborate, and perform in the Redstone Room.
* Let’s Band Together - Providing free instrument loans to school bands and individuals.
"After such a strong community response," said Common Chord's executive director Tyson Danner, "we are delighted to host the third year of QC Flavor Fest. We are thankful to our community members who have stepped up to support our mission of building a stronger community through music and inspiring the
next generation."
