"Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic" at the Raccoon Motel -- October 26.

Sunday, October 26, 7 p.m.

Raccoon Motel, 315 East Second Street, Davenport IA

A wildly popular comedy show filled with stage shenanigans, songs, contests, and prizes designed to lift the spirits, the touring hit Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic lands at Davenport's Raccoon Motel on October 26, treating patrons to a night with Canadian actor Patrick Roach and his alter ego: lovable Randy of Trailer Park Boys fame.

Roach was born in and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, in 1969, and attended Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, from which he graduated in 1992. He's best known as a cast member on Trailer Park Boys, the Canadian mockumentary sitcom that began airing in 2001. The show follows the misadventures of a group of trailer-park residents, including two lead characters in and out of prison, living in the fictional "Sunnyvale Trailer Park" in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The show originally ran for seven seasons before concluding with a one-hour special in 2008, and the Trailer Park Boys series has spawned four films to date: 2006's The Movie, 2009's Countdown to Liquor Day, 2014's Don't Legalize It, and last year's Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles & the Shitrockers Story.

For the first four years he appeared on Trailer Park Boys, Roach continued to work as a regional sales manager for Sparkling Springs, a bottled water company, and he would film Trailer Park Boys on his vacation time. But in July of 2004 he quit his job (which he had held since 1993) in order to concentrate on acting, and when asked what it was like appearing shirtless in nearly every episode of the comedy, Roach replied that "it was uncomfortable at first, but after everyone in Canada has seen you, what the hell." His character Randy works as Assistant Trailer Park Supervisor and Weekend Trailer Park Supervisor and is in an on-again/off-again relationship with the Trailer Park Supervisor Jim Lahey (John Dunsworth), whom he always calls Mr. Lahey.

Roach also appeared in the original Trailer Park Boys short film before it was made into a series. His character was the basis for Randy, but was named Patrick, and wore a shirt. In between shooting the show, Roach and Dunsworth traveled across Canada performing at comedy clubs and other music events as a stand-up/improv act. After Dunsworth's death in 2017, however, Roach created his own stand-up comedy show, and currently tours with Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic.

Patrick Roach and Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic land in Davenport on October 26, admission to the 7 p.m. touring comedy is $39.67, and more information and tickets are available by visiting TheRaccoonMotel.com.
