With the Los Angeles Times praising him as "provocative, engaging, and extremely funny," Las Vegas Magazine adding that he delivers "comedy with a bang," national touring standup Shang Forbes brings his Fast & Hilarious Comedy Jam to Davenport's Adler Theatre on July 25, the artist performing locally alongside up-and-coming comedians LeClerc Andre, Joshua Black, and T Barb.
Celebrated for his high-energy delivery, sharp observations, and crowd-engaging performances, Forbes is a transplanted New Yorker whose carefully nurtured evolution from stand-up comedy to socio-political satire gives heavy flight to the spoken and outspoken word. The 2011 Famecast Comedy Winner, the standup has been seen on CBS’ The Late Late Show, HBO 's Def Jam & Def Poetry, Starz' 1st Amendment, Comedy Central’s Jamie Foxx Laffapaloolza ,Premium Blend, and Gotham Comedy LIVE. A two-time winner of BET's Comic View Grand Stand, Forbes has also guest-starred on NBC’S Heroes and CBS' CSI and NCIS, co-starred in a Honda commercial campaign, and appeared in the movies Devine Intervention and Trunked!. Recently, he also performed on internationally televised shows in Japan, Ireland, London, and Amsterdam.
Joining Forbes on the Fast & Hilarious Comedy Jam are three rising stars in the world of standup. LeClerc Andre is a young comedian living in Brooklyn, New York. Originally from Maryland, he has performed in numerous comedy festivals and can be seen on some of the hottest stages in NYC. Joshua Black is a Nashville-born standup comedian, writer, and podcaster who produces several shows throughout the city each month. Recently, he has put together events in Nashville with comedian Cipha Sounds, and hosts an open-mic comedy show every week, as well as a weekly podcast.. Tiffany “T.Barb” Barber, meanwhile, is a comedian and actress who quit a 14-year social work career to pursue her comedy dreams. Born and raised in Detroit she, attended HBCU, Dillard University, and later received her MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy before turning her attentions to the standup circuit.
