A lauded actor, comedian, and community leader best known for his portrayal of DEA Agent Steven Gomez on the Emmy-winning AMC series Breaking Bad, Steven Michael Quezada is the February 12 headliner in the "Laugh QC" Thursday Night Comedy Series held in the Mississippi Hall of the Davenport RiverCenter, the performer also boasting roles in Magnum P.I., Strange Darling, and Documentary Now!
Quezada’s film and television career spans more than two decades, with credits including Wildfire, In Plain Sight, Crash, Beerfest, First Snow, Love Ranch, The Condemned 2, Kepler’s Dream, Outlaws & Angels, Fender Bender, La Vida Robot, Girlfriend’s Day, 3 From Hell, Wish Man, Letters at Christmas, and Jade. Most famously, Quezada played DEA agent Steven Gomez, the level-headed partner of Hank Schrader, in Breaking Bad from 2008 to 2013, eventually reprising his role in the series' spin-off Better Call Saul during season five. He also created and hosted the Albuquerque-based talk show The After After Party, where he served as host, writer, and producer.
A seasoned stand-up comedian, Quezada has performed in top venues nationwide, from The Laugh Factory to George Lopez’s Punchliner Comedy Club, and toured extensively across the U.S. His debut comedy special, The New Mexican, is currently streaming on major platforms including Amazon Prime, Spotify, iTunes, and Apple. In 2023, he launched Quezada’s Comedy Club & Cantina at the Santa Ana Star Casino, cementing his role as both performer and promoter of live comedy.
In addition to his entertainment career, Quezada has been deeply active in public service. He was elected to the Albuquerque school board in 2013 and later served on the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners beginning in 2017, where he held terms as both vice chair and chair. His dedication to his community reflects his pride in his New Mexican heritage and his commitment to giving back through leadership, mentorship, and public service.
