Davenport, Iowa (March 30, 2016) – The Figge Art Museum will be offering free admission all day for Free Family Day on Saturday, sponsored by the Quad-City Times.

 

Scheduled activities will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and will include LEGO build challenges, LEGO-themed movies, drawing and sketching opportunities, a place to vote for your favorite artwork in the Rock Island Art Guild exhibition, a chance to meet a LEGO builder and an area to contribute a pinwheel to support Students Rebuild. Free snacks will be provided and lunch will be available for purchase in the Figge Café from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

 

Visitors will be able to dive into the current exhibitions on view including The Art of Architecture: LEGO Sculptures by Adam Reed Tucker Photographs by J. Hunt Harris II, Mississippi River Views From the Muscatine Art Center, Young Artists at the Figge, Rock Island Art Guild Fine Arts Exhibition and the permanent collection.

 

About the Figge Art Museum

The Figge Art Museum is located on the riverfront in downtown Davenport at 225 West Second Street. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday and Sundays noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays the museum is open until 9 p.m. Admission to the museum and tour is $7. Admission is always free to Figge members and institutional members, and free to all on Thursday evenings from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Figge Café is open 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.
