SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Reps. Mike Smiddy and Jay Hoffman will join school superintendents at a Wednesday press conference to discuss the importance of state leaders coming together to increase funding for elementary schools and high schools in the coming fiscal year, and to ensure schools to open on time.

School districts across Illinois are seeking additional state assistance to meet the growing needs of students. Given the uncertainty of the state budget, and schools’ need for state funding to arrive consistently and on-time to allow them to continue providing area students with the education they deserve, Smiddy and Hoffman are working to make sure education funding is prioritized.
