Metropolitan Community Church of the Quad Cities (MCCQC) invites the community to attend a Candlelight Vigil in Solidarity with the victims in the Orlando, FL shooting to be held on Wednesday, June 15 at 7:30 pm.
DAVENPORT, Iowa, June 12, 2016 – All persons of good will are invited to join Reverend Rich Hendricks and the MCCQC church family, as well as faith leaders/members from the Jewish, Muslim, Unitarian, Christian and other faith communities for a candlelight vigil on Wednesday, June 15 at 7:30 pm. The vigil will be held at MCCQC located at 2930 W. Locust Street, Davenport, across from the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds.
Rev. Hendricks states, “Our intent is to honor the victims of the Orlando shootings, their families and loved ones and to send a message that we are one human family...there is no ‘other’. We should love God while loving one another as everything else is just window dressing. The only thing that is stronger than hate is the power of love”.
