SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Democratic activists will join with elected officials for a rally to celebrate Democrat Day at the Illinois State Fair on Thursday, Aug. 18.
 
“We invite our friends and partners to join with us this Democrat Day,” said Michael Madigan, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Illinois. “We have been fighting to preserve and protect Illinois families from Governor Rauner’s extreme agenda, aimed at to driving down middle-class wages and standard of living. The Democratic Party of Illinois wants to help families achieve and maintain financial security to move everyone forward and leave no one behind.”
 
The rally will take place on the State Fair’s Directors Lawn beginning at 12 p.m., or immediately following the Democratic County Chairman’s Brunch. The event is free and open to the public.
