IA/IL QUAD CITIES – The Healthy Happy Families Foundation was recently approved for non-profit status by the State of Iowa, and to celebrate and bring awareness to its mission and various causes, the foundation will hold a fundraiser with the theme, Denim and Diamonds.

“We invite the community to join us for an evening of food, cocktails and live entertainment,” said Mike Mickle, President and Founder of the Healthy Happy Families Foundation. “The event will feature three of Nashville's hottest singer/songwriters, including American Idol finalist Cameron Bedell, The Voice finalist Brittany Kennell, and YouTube Sensation Preston Leatherman. All proceeds will benefit the Healthy Happy Families Foundation.”
The fundraiser will be held 7 to 10 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at Crow Valley Golf Club, 4315 E 60th St., Davenport, IA. Cost of admission is $75. Online registration will be available at http://hhff2016.eventbrite.com until noon on the day of the event. Email hhffgala@gmail.com with any questions about the event.

How the Healthy Happy Families Foundation Began

After tackling the subject of teen depression and suicide in the documentary, If You Only Knew...The Journey Through Teen Depression and Suicide, Mickle Communications received an outpouring of requests for help with that topic and many others that represent dangers facing our youth, such as Human Trafficking, Heroin Addiction, Poverty, Unhealthy Personal Relationships, and Digital Dangers.
“We’ve produced a second documentary, Human Trafficking in the Heartland, which will give viewers a look at the prevalence of children being sold for sex,” Mike said. “But even so, we realized  documentaries weren't enough. We needed to work with the community to do more. This is why the Happy Healthy Families Foundation was created.”
The brainchild of Mike and Karen Mickle through Mickle Communications, the Healthy Happy Families Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) formed in 2016 as a resource to strengthen families. “The foundation will strive to empower children and families with the confidence to battle the many dangers and issues they face,” Mike said. “The foundation is committed to enhancing community awareness of these social concerns, so that we as a community can help our children remain safe and guide them toward a happy, productive future.”
