DES MOINES, Iowa – Over a week after footage of Donald Trump bragging about sexual assault first surfaced, Chuck Grassley has refused to condemn Trump’s candidacy. Even though multiple women have come forward to disclose how Donald Trump has sexually assaulted them, Chuck Grassley has still stood by him. Sadly, Chuck Grassley’s continued support of Trump should not be surprising given his previous anti-women votes in the U.S. Senate.

Chuck Grassley has voted to defund Planned Parenthood, the largest healthcare provider for women in the country. He has also repeatedly voted against reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act and the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which instituted legal reforms to support women in the workplace who were discriminated against due to their gender.

“Chuck Grassley has a clear record of voting against the best interests of Iowa women,” said Patty Judge Spokesperson Sam Roecker. “Chuck Grassley has consistently voted against ensuring women receive equal pay for equal work, he voted to defund health care services for women, and he even voted against the Violence Against Women Act. Given Chuck Grassley’s clear history, it’s not surprising the latest allegations against Donald Trump have not made him reconsider his support.”
