DES MOINES, Iowa – As Election Day approaches, Chuck Grassley is doubling down on his support of the Trump-Pence campaign. Today, he appeared onstage at an official Trump campaign rally for the first time since the primary campaign.
Grassley joined Republican Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence onstage at an event in Prole, IA, where he reaffirmed that he has fully embraced the divisive and dangerous Trump-Pence ticket. Pence and Grassley were also joined by Senator Ted Cruz, who recently called for the Senate to indefinitely block any Supreme Court nominee put forward by Hillary Clinton.
“By campaigning with Mike Pence, Grassley is supporting the hateful and divisive message that the Trump campaign has spread throughout this race,” said Patty Judge spokesperson Sam Roecker. “Just five days before the election, Grassley is standing onstage with a man who defends Trumps hateful, sexist, xenophobic, and uninformed rhetoric. He is standing shoulder to shoulder with a Governor who sought to prevent Indiana’s women from accessing healthcare, strip LGBTQ citizens of their civil liberties, and supports economic policies that would be disastrous for everyday Iowans. Chuck Grassley is also standing shoulder to shoulder with Ted Cruz, who supports indefinitely blocking any Supreme Court nomination made by Hillary Clinton. It is clear that Grassley has no issue with the Trump campaign or it’s policies and that is evidence enough that he should not be representing Iowans in Washington."
