QC Rock Academy

Feel the beat and rock out with some talented kids from the QC Rock Academy as they showcase their stuff. Have an opportunity to check out some of the instruments and how you can get involved with this great group.

Comedy Sportz "Rated E for Everyone"

Get ready for some laughs! The Comedy Sportz team from right here in the Quad Cities will take the stage at the Family Museum! The “act-letes” hilarious improvisation skits will have kids giggling! The audience-involved show is appropriate for the entire family.

Heroes and Princesses Day
Wednesday, March 16
10:30 am - 3:00 pm

Be your own hero or princess! Come in costume or make one of your own! Capes, and masks, and bracelets are just waiting for you to design. Power through an obstacle course or try to catapult a frog into the “pond.”

Earth Balloon
Thursday, March 17
10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Step inside the planet Earth! Take off your shoes and experience the Earth in a whole new way … from the inside! Earth Balloon is a 20’ diameter model of the Earth made of high resolution satellite images and true to life colors. Programs run approximately 20 minutes every half-hour, last show begins at 3:30. *Please be aware that no more than 30 people will be allowed in the Earth Balloon at a time.

Star Gazing

The galaxies and stars aren’t so far, far away when you look through a telescope. Dress warmly for an evening of star gazing brought to you in memory of Gary Aronson, a long-time board member and astronomy enthusiast who donated his wonderful telescope to the Family Museum. WEATHER PERMITTING

Join us for reading and singing and silliness with IPTV Kids’ Club Host Dan Wardell. He’s a favorite across Iowa for encouraging kids to turn off the TV, go outside and play, use their imagination, read lots of good books, and eat healthy food. Wonder what Dan will do at the Family Museum?

Star Wars Day
Saturday, March 19
10:30 am - 3:00 pm

“Use the Force” to find your way to the Family Museum, but beware: the Dark Side as Darth Vader will be recruiting! Make a pretend light saber and R2D2. Come in costume and enjoy a day devoted to Star Wars. Meet Darth Vader and learn some Saber Combat moves through a Mini Jedi Training Academy. Light Saber Duel: 10:45 am and 1:45 pm. Young Jedi Training: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm and 2:00 - 3:00 pm. Photo Ops: 10:00 - 10:45 am, 1:00 - 1:45 pm, and 3:00 - 4:00 pm
