Friends of Hauberg Civic Center announces its first major fundraiser, “A Great Gatsby Gala.” It will take place on Saturday, October 1, from 6-10 pm at the historic Hauberg-Denkmann mansion,1300 24th Street, Rock Island Illinois. Your tickets are inclusive - heavy hors d' oeuvres, beer, wine, and champagne. There will also be a silent auction sponsored by the Rock Island Art Guild that provides a rare opportunity to purchase original and recent pieces in many mediums. Artists who are donating their work to the event include......name name name (maybe say how many are donating, too).
You will enjoy the ambience and special evening decorations as you nibble, drink, and peruse fine art in this historic home. Costumes to add to the fun atmosphere are encouraged but are not required.

Friends of Hauberg Civic Center is a 501c3 organization that was formed this year to support maintenance and programming at the Prairie style home that was donated to the City of Rock Island by the Hauberg children in 1956. Designed by Prairie school architect Robert C. Spencer, the home and its large garage/stable are a gem that is centrally located in Rock Island. The buildings are surrounded by 10 acres of grounds designed by Prairie school landscape designer, Jens Jensen. This landscape is undergoing restoration based on the original Jensen plans.
