[Festival of Trees]  

 

 

 

It's finally here! Festival of Trees is all set up in the RiverCenter, and starting tomorrow, you can submerse yourself in all things Christmas. The TreatShoppe, Gingerbread Village, Festival Express and so much more are waiting for you at Festival of Trees. The annual Holiday Parade kicks off at 9:45 on Saturday.   Make sure the little ones get the chance to see Santa and explore the wonders of the North Pole with discounted tickets on Family Day. All proceeds from the festival go towards Quad City Arts.

 

 


[Third Thursday]

Our downtown businesses are getting in the holiday spirit in honor of Festival of Trees! Abernathy's is giving away a special ornament, and you can check out their new inventory and store design. The Holiday Train is back at Bucktown, and Crafted QC's halls are decked complete with hot cider on hand! Endless Brews and Oh So Sweet are collaborating with pie and beer tasting at both locations. Me & Billy is highlighting their peppermint mule before it hits the official menu. The Spa at Blackhawk Hotel has BOGO ½ off for all of their products; pre-book an appointment and you'll get $10 off! SiS has custom fair trade pieces on sale tonight;  get a glass ornament from Ecuador or a recycled metal QC bowl from India.
 
Barrel House is hosting trivia at 8 p.m. with ½ off bottles of wine, martinis and appetizers. Bereskin Gallery and MidCoast Fine Arts in Bucktown both have brand new displays that are open to the public. The Creative Collective is giving 20% off all QC wall décor and local images by Heidi Brandt. Daytrotter is hosting its first ever comedy night entitled "The After Hour"  with Andrew King...oh and its FREE! The Full Kit has started a new rewards program and if you go in tonight and sign up you'll automatically get free bonus point! If you tell your bartender or waitress at The Phoenix that you're in for third Thursday they'll give you special happy hour discounts! 

 

[Quad City Symphony Orchestra]
 
You can't escape the pre-holiday madness this weekend. Quad City Symphony Orchestra is hosting the Holiday POPS series at the Adler Theatre on Saturday.  Join the symphony for either a matinee following the Festival of Trees parade or  in the evening for some post dinner entertainment. Both will include performances by Ballet Quad Cities and RiverBend Bronze with different special guests. Tickets run from $13 - $53. 

 


[River Music Experience]

JJ Grey & Mofro have SOLD OUT the Redstone Room for Tuesday night.  The Blues and Roots series at RME is already proving to be a success. Wednesday night, All Sweat Productions will present "The Last Waltz" complete with a roast beef dinner.  All Sweat is recreating The Band's 1976 Winterland show! Grab your tickets for dinner and the show before it's too late! Enjoy the folk rock tunes of The Ragbirds Friday night in the Redstone Room, and Polyrhythms Third Sunday Jazz and will be gracing the QC with a performance by Manuel Lopez III. 

[Daytrotter]
 
As mentioned earlier, Daytrotter is hosting their first ever comedy show tonight. The After Hour with Andrew King is a free show featuring comedian Chris Schlichting. Tomorrow night, The Velies are opening for the Cerny Brothers! The once Sherrard, IL; once Los Angels, CA; now Nashville, TN duo will be bringing their Americana sound to the DT stage. 

[New Biz Introductions]
 
Over the past few weeks downtown has welcomed several new businesses to our team! The Corner Kitchen is a family style diner on Myrtle St. that serves breakfast (all day), lunch and dinner. RiverBend Retro has moved to 520 W. 2nd St. Check out their awesome mid-century mod furniture, decorations, and accessories.  Raw is a high-end bar featuring all natural and fresh ingredients next to the Adler Theatre. Take some time to visit the new digs downtown! 
[Get Crafty]
 
Crafted QC has an intro into clay class tomorrow evening and an info session on essential oils on TuesdayTonight, Tippi Yogis will host a class at The Phoenix starting at 5:30. Following the Tippi class, head over to Sippi's for Vino Van Gogh.

[Coming Up]
 
Don't forget about the Turkey Trot! Next Thursday morning, sign up for the 1-mile fun run, a 5k, a 5-mile run or even a mash-up RPM/CX Worx class. Lisa Loeb is playing at RME the day after Thanksgiving, too.  John Berry and Elf the Musical will be at the Adler soon, as well. Small Business Saturday is next weekend!
