(DES MOINES) –Governor Branstad today appointed Patrick W. Greenwood as judge to the 5B Judicial District.  Greenwood was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Sherman W. Phipps.

Greenwood, 46, of Lamoni, currently is in private practice.  He also serves as a Decatur County Magistrate Judge and Adjunct Faculty Member at Graceland University. Greenwood received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University in 1992 and his law degree from Drake University Law School in 1998.

District 5B consists of the following counties: Adair, Adams, Clark, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Taylor, Union, and Wayne and a map of District 5 can be found here.
