Award was presented by Growth Energy, a group representing producers and supporters of ethanol across the nation

DES MOINES – Today, Growth Energy announced that they have presented their highest award, the 2016 America’s Fuel Award, to Gov. Terry E. Branstad for his extraordinary efforts in supporting and promoting clean fuel and energy policies in the United States and his steadfast commitment to the growth and wellbeing of the ethanol industry.

“Governor Branstad’s track record of advocating for the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), a policy that helps increase American jobs, consumer choice, reduces our dependence on foreign oil and produces homegrown, cleaner burning renewable fuels made him a clear and deserving winner of the America’s Fuel Award,” said Co-Chair and Acting CEO of Growth Energy, Tom Buis.

The America’s Fuel Award is presented to an individual who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to act as a champion for the renewable fuels industry. Past winners include retired Four Star General, Wesley Clark, Richard Childress of Richard Childress Racing and Chicago Alderman, Edward M. “Ed” Burke.
