An Act Concerning:  Public Health

Law distinguishes Alzheimer`s disease as the most prevalent type of dementia. Will improve treatment options by mandating that starting Jan. 1, 2014, the Illinois Department of Public Health, along with members of the General Assembly and stakeholders shall hold public hearings every three years with the goal of developing a state strategy and response for the Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Plan.

Action: Signed                        

Effective Date:  Jan. 1
