DES MOINES, Iowa – U.S. Senate candidate Patty Judge released the following statement this afternoon echoing Illinois Republican Senator Mark Kirk’s call for his colleagues to hold an up or down vote on Judge Garland. Kirk told an Illinois radio show, “the tough thing about these Senatorial jobs is you get yes or no votes.” He added, “Your whole job is to either say yes or no, and explain why.”

Patty Judge responded to Senator Kirk’s assessment of the issue with the following statement:

“If our neighboring Senator is willing to cast an up or down vote on Judge Garland, why isn’t Chuck Grassley? This is just another example of Chuck Grassley fighting for his friends in Washington instead of the people of Iowa. It’s time for him to do his job and hold hearings on President Obama’s nominee. It’s what Iowan’s expect him to do.”

Judge has previously won three statewide elections, serving two terms as Iowa Secretary of Agriculture and one term as Iowa’s Lieutenant Governor. Iowans can join the campaign online at www.pattyjudgeforiowa.com, by following @PattyJudge, or on Facebook.
