Washington, D.C. – It was announced today that Congressman Dave Loebsack will serve on the conference committee that will negotiate the final details of a comprehensive energy and natural resources package. The committee will assemble the final legislation from the bills that were previously passed by both the House and Senate. The final product will then be voted on by Congress, before going to the President.

“I am pleased to be named to the conference committee in order to fight for Iowa’s energy priorities. I look forward to producing a strong bill that will modernize our nation’s energy portfolio,” said Loebsack. “It is my hope that Republicans and Democrats can cooperate and come together to produce a bill that will support clean energy, create jobs here at home and reduce our dependence on foreign fuels. I will continue to be an advocate for ensuring our rural communities play a large role in our nation’s energy strategy.”
