The Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency (AEA) will be sponsoring a screening of the film “Most Likely to Succeed” at 5:30 p.m., April 4 at the AEA’s office located at 729 21st Street, Bettendorf. Doors open at 5 p.m. for snacks, and a discussion will follow at 7 p.m.

The feature-length documentary examines the history of education in the United States, revealing the growing shortcomings of education in today's changing world. The film explores new approaches that aim to revolutionize teaching and learning as we know it. After seeing this film, the way you think about "school" never will be the same.

The film inspires its audiences with a sense of purpose and possibility, and is bringing school communities together in re-imagining what our students and teachers are capable of doing. “Most Likely to Succeed” points to a transformation in learning that may hold the key to success for millions of our youth - and our nation - as we grapple with the ramifications of rapid advances in technology, automation, and growing levels of income inequality.

The AEA’s goal is to help schools — all schools — move forward by re-imagining their purpose, and creating learning experiences that prepare kids for life in the 21st Century. By making this film available to schools, we bring teachers, parents, and students together to see the film and engage in thoughtful discussion about the future of their school and kids.
