Nicole Kelly will continue on to represent the state of Iowa at Miss America which will be held in Atlantic City in September. Emma Kate Wichman will move on to the national completion, Miss America's Outstanding Teen which will be held in August in Orlando, Florida. Both young ladies will compete in five areas of competition at the national level including: Interview, Talent, Evening Gown, On-Stage Question and Fitness. Both Kelly and Wichman will spend the upcoming year representing Iowa with appearances and events throughout the state with a focus on promoting their platforms.
