CHICAGO -- Planned Parenthood Illinois Action (PPIA), the non-partisan political and advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood in Illinois, announced endorsements in Illinois General Assembly races for the March, 15, 2016 Primary Election. PPIA endorses candidates who support access to a full range of affordable reproductive health care and education for all Illinois women, men, and teens.
“After a year of unprecedented attacks on Planned Parenthood and women’s health care, now more than ever we must elect leaders who will make sure that abortion remains a safe and legal medical procedure for a woman to consider, if and when she needs it,” said Carole Brite, President and CEO, Planned Parenthood Illinois Action. “The candidates endorsed by Planned Parenthood Illinois Action understand that a woman, not politicians, should make the informed decisions when it comes to her own pregnancy.”
