Holiday Performances

Follow young Clara on her magical journey as she saves the Nutcracker Prince from the evil Rat King. The well-known holiday classic comes to life in Ballet Quad Cities' enchanting production at the Adler Theatre, 136 E. 3rd Street in downtown Davenport, Iowa. With a cast of over 50, they bring Tchaikovsky's well-known music to life in three spectacular performances on Dec. 14th at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 15th at 1:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Adler Theater Box Office at 563-326-8500 or at any Ticketmaster outlet.

This is a Quad Cities premiere of this musical based on the famous movie, A Christmas Story. All of the iconic scenes from the movie are there as Ralphie wishes for a Red Rider BB Gun. Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse is a beautifully restored Vaudeville-era theater and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located at 1828 3rd Avenue in Rock Island, Illinois. Celebrate at John Deere Historic Mansions

Christmas at the historic John Deere family mansions in Moline, Illinois, has become a holiday tradition. On Sunday, Dec. 1, step back in time for the free 19th Century Christmas celebration from 12-5 p.m. Also, visit with living-history volunteers, hear carolers, and participate in make-and-take activities.

Big Holiday Weekend Fri, Dec 6 - Sun, Dec 8

It's a family tradition for over 25 years in the Village of East Davenport. On Dec. 6-7, come and enjoy live windows, music, local artists, horse-drawn wagon rides, and of course Santa will be here. 6-9 p.m. each night. There will be fireworks on Dec. 6 at 9 p.m. The Village is located at Mound & 11th Street, Davenport, Iowa.

If you want to jazz up the holidays, come to the free Gallery Hop! from 6-10 p.m. on Dec. 6 in The Downtown Rock Island Arts & Entertainment District in Rock Island, Ill. With great food and beverages to keep you motivated, where else can you party while you shop?

The charming village of LeClaire, Iowa, is transformed into a scene from a Norman Rockwell painting on Dec. 6-8 with its delightful shopping, trolley rides, bazaar, and breakfast with Santa. Christmas in LeClaire is where Santa comes to shop.

Princess Diana Exhibit Ends Sun, Jan 5

The award-winning exhibition Diana, A Celebration, chronicles the life and work of Diana, Princess of Wales, through 150 objects, including her famed royal wedding gown. It is on display until January 5 at the Putnam Museum in Davenport. The exhibit has nine galleries containing 150 objects-ranging from her royal wedding gown and 28 of her designer dresses to family heirlooms, personal mementoes, paintings and rare home movies and photos.

Quad City Mallards

The Quad City Mallards proudly take to the ice for their "AA" Central Hockey League (CHL) season in 2013-14. All Mallards home games are played at the iWireless Center in Moline from October-March. In December, the Mallards play at home on Dec. 6-8, and 21. Single game tickets start at only $10.

Ski Snowstar

Opening December 7! When the weather gets colder in the Quad Cities, it is time to head outdoors to play in the winter wonderland. One place to have a great time in the snow is at the 28-acre Ski Snowstar Winter Sports Park. With downhill ski runs of all levels, a tube hill and plenty of lifts, anyone can have fun at Snowstar.
