Please join us as we kick off the summer Olympic Games, GARDEN style!  Crafts, games, gardens, food and fun combine to make this an event you don't want to miss.  Designed to be fun for the whole family, this afternoon in the gardens includes games to get you moving, thinking and competing!  Try your hand at Bocce Ball, Bags, Croquet, Giant Tumbling Towers, Pick Up Sticks, Mini-Mississippi River Boat Racing, Squirt Gun Racing, and the 10-challenge obstacle course - the Garden Gauntlet.

When you arrive, be sure to pick up a "passport" to fun that will guide you through the activities - don't forget to stop by the crafting area where children will be creating their own Olympic Torch, make and take tic tac toe board and more.  When your passport is full, drop it off to be entered to win a "behind the scenes" tour and private lunch with members of the staff of the Quad City Botanical Center.

At 12:30pm be sure to join all our guests to witness or participate in the parade of athletes, and help carry the Olympic flame home!

Feed your hunger with classic picnic fare with a global flair!   Enjoy a Garden Hot Dog bar including toppings that will transform this American tradition into one of three international garden delights - create a German Garden Dog with sauerkraut and mustard.  Dive into a Mexican Garden Dog, with refried beans and crushed Fritos or a Brazilian Garden Dog with chili and cheese, or stick to the classic American Garden Dog with classic toppings!  Feeling adventurous?  Mix, match and mingle to create your own multi-cultural dog of the day!  Top it off with an ice cream sundae dessert.  $3 for the hot dog bar and $1 for ice cream sundaes, members of the Botanical Center eat for free today!  (While supplies last!)

Build in time to visit the Sun Garden, the garden train railroad, enjoy the blooming day lilies, and play the rest of the day away in the hobbit house and children's garden exhibit.  Also, don't forget to stop in and visit our gift shop on your way out as we will be discounting all non-consigned items %25!
