We hope you`ve heard, but if you have not, Run with Carl is not over!  Last year, the Schillig family decided to end the Labor Day tradition after 20 years.  The race honors the life of Carl Schillig, a 15-year-old Pleasant Valley Student, who was killed in a car accident in 1994.  The family decided to start a scholarship in his name.  Every year they give out two, one a Bettendorf student, one to a PV student.  That scholarship will continue.

In November of last year, the Schilligs turned the race over to the Pleasant Valley Educational Foundation and the Bettendorf Community Schools Foundation.  The two foundations are now organizing the race, with funds going to the scholarship program at Pleasant Valley (we give out 70+ scholarships a year!) and to grants for Bettendorf students (for ipads, projects, etc.)

The race will still be held Labor Day morning, still starting at the Bettendorf Life Fitness Center.

Hope all is well!  Have a great week!
