The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Master Gardener program in Scott County will host a summer webinar series in 2016.

 

 

On June 28th “Got Shade?” will feature ISU Extension and Outreach horticulturist Denny Schrock teaching participants how to utilize shade plants in the landscape while focusing on plants native to Iowa.

 

 

July 12th will be  “Getting to the Bottom of Tree Problems,” with Lina Rodriguez-Salamanca, ISU Extension and Outreach plant pathologist and diagnostician with the ISU Plant and Insect Clinic. Participants will become familiar with some of the common symptoms of tree problems and learn what to keep an eye out for.

 

 

August 23rd will have “What’s all the Buzz About?”  Nathan Brockman, curator of the butterfly wing of Reiman Gardens at Iowa State University will teach about insects native to Iowa and what to do to increase the enjoyment of these six-legged garden visitors.

 

 

Each webinar will be held from 7 – 9:00 pm at the Scott County Extension office, 875 Tanglefoot Lane, Bettendorf, Iowa.  Cost is $5.  Questions?  Please call the Scott County Extension office at 563-359-7577.
