Announces funds raised to date and kicks off the public phase of the “Soaring Beyond” campaign to raise remainder of $6.5 million goal

Who: Tanager Place is a private, nonprofit child and family service agency that strives to successfully serve children and families challenged by social and psychological needs.

What: A program to launch the public phase of the “Soaring Beyond” capital campaign to expand the Tanager Place Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, which opened in June. With this expansion, Tanager Place will be able to serve twice as many children in Eastern Iowa. Tanager Place is turning the tide on the attitude toward mental health stigma one child at a time and invites you to join in the effort of providing more care for more children across Eastern Iowa.

When: Thursday, February 11 from 5-7p.m. Program beginning at 5:45 p.m.

Where: TrueNorth Building, 500 1st St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401

Why: Tanager Place is one of the few agencies with a comprehensive program that offers the treatment children need.

Mental illness affects one in five children in our community. Too many times mental illness can be hidden in plain sight. The lack of access to mental and behavioral health has reached critical proportions. The need for Tanager Place services is greater than ever.

With more than 4,500 children in Linn and surrounding counties needing mental health treatment this year alone, the demand for mental health services far exceeds Tanager Place’s available space for these children.

Please help the children of Tanager Place soar beyond. Join us at the launch of the capital campaign February 11 and meet the diverse team of professionals who are committed to helping kids soar beyond and strengthening families in Eastern Iowa.
