[Genesis Remembrance Tree Lighting]
Honor your loved ones with a light on the Remembrance Tree. Friday night, Genesis Health System will host its 2016 Remembrance Tree Lighting Ceremony. Since 2004, over $30,000 has been raised in support of hospice care from light sponsors. Head to Bechtel Park Friday night and support this great cause.

Abernathy's has been closed for renovations and is reopening just in time for its 3rd birthday! Celebrate the eclectic awesomeness Abernathy's has been bringing downtown on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The first 30 people through the door will receive a special gift from the staff and will have first pick of their new inventory!

View the beauty of the Mississippi River and support those trying to retain its natural beauty at Bereskin Gallery. The "Art Meets River" exhibit will be on display until Nov 14. Purchase a 2017 calendar featuring the art in support of River Action. Instructor David Zahn is leading a clay class centered on creating a realistic face; join him at Bereskin either tonight or next Thursday for the course.

Check out the incredible talents of Creative Arts Academy students at Fall Fest! During the two hour ceremony, all students will have their work displayed or will be performing. As a part of the Blues Program, Ben Hunter and Joe Seamons will be gracing the Figge with their traditional Pacific Northwestern acoustic tunes for free Friday evening. Empower your daughters by bringing them to the Girls on Fire conference next Friday.

GRB has teamed up with Boetje's Mustard for a small batch stout. Head to the brewery tomorrow after work for a rare opportunity to try a mustard stout! The Girl Scouts of eastern Iowa and western Illinois are having a fundraising night on Tuesday. Bring in any of your old girl scout memorabilia to be entered in a raffle......we hear there's going to be cookies, too!
