Happy St. Patrick's Day! It also happens to be Third Thursday, so we are celebrating both occasions downtown with many St. Patty's Day themed specials, deals and... a goat! Seriously, there's a rumor that a Nubian goat will be around for public goating! 

Downtown Central Perk, Mac's Tavern, Me & Billy and Front Street will all feature St. Patty's day fare. Endless Brews is participating in Third Thursday for their first time with beer swag giveaways plus $2 off Founders All-Day IPA and Great River Iowish Stout! The Spa at Hotel Blackhawk will have appetizers, free green nail polish changes, $5 brow waxes and $10 brow tints! Check out Crafted QC's new expanded shop space, plus the goat will be there with Escape Goat bath bombs, green eggs and ham! SiS International Shop will be giving away samples of different varieties of green tea. Save some green at Abernathy's with their entire selection of vintage men's and women's clothing just $17!   Green will continue to dominate the downtown area with thousands of John Deere lovers coming together to celebrate antique John Deere equipment and farming history at the biannual Gathering of the Green conference. The theme this year is "Forget to Farm" and will offer admirers a chance to enjoy many workshops and shop with 70+ vendors. 

  SpringQueening is taking over the Redstone Room on Friday featuring members of The Candymakers, The Low Down and Rude Punch. The show will live up to it's name with a Queen tribute plus a very special Bowie tribute performed by The Dawn. The music continues on Saturday with a free show on the community stage with Keith Soko and $5 will get you into the Redstone All-Stars Play 60's & 70's Mixtape. Round out your weekend with Third Sunday Jazz presenting The Billy Foster Quartet!

  The German American Heritage Center hosts it's 5th Annual Eiermarkt Spring Craft Fair this Saturday. On Sunday, Railroad author, historian and teacher, Dr. Rudy Daniels will present on the fascinating and incredible story of U.S. railroad history during World War I. Admission to both events at GAHC this weekend is free! 

  The History of Art: Architecture class is happening this Sunday at the Figge and is free with paid admission. Students will look at the effects of popular culture and historical events on style development. While you're there check out The Mississippi Valley Quilters Guild showcase of 30 award winning quilts! The quilts will be on display until March 20th. 

  The City Church will celebrate Easter on Tuesday night with a service and an outdoor Easter Egg and Treasure Hunt in the RME courtyard beginning at 7:30 p.m. Treasure hunt prizes include t-shirts, hats and gift cards from downtown businesses!
