Jonathan Turner will be highlighting his newly finished book "A Brief History of Bucktown: Davenport's Infamous District Transformed" tonight. Stop by Bucktown Center for the Arts and learn about its colorful history. Turner will also be discussing his book Saturday afternoon and at the end of the month, he'll be back for the release and a book signing.
 
The Preserve Iowa Summit will be spread across downtown Davenport this weekend! Check out the schedule and register to hear keynote speakers from Preservation50, the National Park Service, and University of Iowa College of Law.  
 
Brew Ha Ha is taking over Le Claire Park Saturday afternoon! Grab your tickets online beforehand  and sample beer from 40 different breweries, all while raising money for local charities. After drinking plenty of samples from 1-5 p.m, walk over to Front Street Brewery for the official after party.
 
Centennial Park will be filled with skirts and strong men for the Celtic Festival and Highland Games this weekend! Get in touch with your inner Celtic roots and shop from clan vendors, watch traditional dancers and musicians, and vote in a very special Bonnie Knees contest.
 
Take a load off during Live @ 5 this week with The Dawn.  Immediately following, head up to the Redstone Room for a bluesy performance by Sena Ehrhardt with opener Bryce Janey.  Next Thursday, Hot Buttered Rum will be serving up some steamy bluegrass with special guests the Lil' Smokies.

 

Stroll on down to Great River Brewery at 1pm on Saturday for the tapping of Oktoberfest! Bierstube will be at the tapping ready to serve up authentic German food.
