Get in touch with your German roots at Front Street Brewery's first Oktoberfest. Get together on the Freight House deck Friday and Saturday for German food, music and plenty of BEER! With face painting, dancing and games, the weekend is kid friendly too.

[Final Friday]

Wine-d down at the end of the work week at Bucktown's Final Friday. Land a hand-painted wine glass and sample a variety of wines throughout the evening. Jonathan Turner is doing a book signing for his newly released "A Brief History of Bucktown." Boho Chic is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Two new exhibits are opening; Lisa Mahar's in Midcoast Gallery along with Gene Brack and Colleen Curry's in Bereskin Gallery.

[River Music Experience]

Check out the new programs at RME: Open Spaces, for beginners interested in yoga and flow arts, and pluggedin, a networking event for the music community. Chicago Farmer is playing tunes from his new album "Midwest Side Stories" tomorrow in the Redstone Room. Kim Simmonds & Savoy Brown are playing the blues tonight, and Soul Storm is closing out the Live @ 5 season.

[Punk'N-Mator]

Great River Brewery is ready to start fall this weekend too! Head over to GRB before going to Live @ 5, for one of the first Punk'N-Mator beers of the season. This pumpkin beer is made with real pumpkin, brown sugar and pumpkin spice, and is sure to satisfy the manliest of men and the most basic of girls.

[Learn Something]

Impress others with your cooking skills after the Quad Cities Food Hub Cooking with Apples class this week.
